Apskeppet is a pioneer in the Pico-8 development world. They have designed Pico-Cad, Pico-Synth, and several games developed on Pico-8. This time, we’re getting that treatment with Ascent DX, now designed for a much bigger screen and set for a Steam release later this month.

I saw a trailer for Spilled and immediately loved the premise of a little boat cleaning up oil spills, but I didn’t have a PC at the time. I bought an early access version and gifted it to my nephew, who tried it out, liked it, and mentioned it had room for improvement—which made sense since it was in early access. When I learned that the creator, Lente, literally lives on a boat in the Netherlands and was launching a Kickstarter campaign, I had to support it. The campaign was funded three or four times over the goal, she found a publisher, built a small team, and now the game is releasing next week! Tune in for the review—I have something special coming for it! 😉

Quest Vibes | Woodkid — To The Wilder
I am a Death Stranding stan through and through. I’ve bought the game six times across two consoles and PC, gifting it to friends as well. I play through it once a year since its release and obsess over it every time.
With the latest release date trailer for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, my excitement is at its peak. "To The Wilder” by Woodkid stands on the shoulders of giants, and I say this because Low Roar’s involvement in the first Death Stranding was masterful. This song has been on repeat since its release, and the current rumor is that Woodkid will perform it at this year’s Game Awards. It’s a beautiful arrangement—even Woodkid mentioned it was vocally out of his typical range. I stand by it being a masterpiece and hope you enjoy it.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach launches on June 26th, and I can assure you the newsletter will be scheduled a week in advance—because that’s all I’ll be playing while I take time off! Haha!

Quest Loot | The Prince & Katamari Spinning Pin
Katamari Damacy is a game that changed my life forever. Up to that point, I had played many games across different genres and was deep into Halo 2—making a clan, racking up kill streaks, and spending countless hours with friends.
Then, I pivoted to rolling around a Katamari as a tiny Prince, picking up everything from household items to cars—and eventually, whole islands. It instantly became one of my favorite games, and I’ve bought every installment since. Especially with that insanely poppy, jam-filled soundtrack.
Hold on while I insert an absolute bop that will blow your mind if you haven’t heard it already. ENJOY! 🎶
So, why am I bringing this all up? Well, I bought the pin at the start of this section a few years back and keep it on my jacket during the spring and fall. My son tells everyone about it whenever we meet someone new—he makes me bend down and gives the Katamari a spin. It’s one of the best parts of my day, and I hope someone else picks one up and enjoys it as much as we do.
We love Katamari. 💫
