A mix of turn-based tactics and roguelike deckbuilding where you lead a group of toads against evil forces may sound like a lot, but trust me—this game looks like a great time.

I never understood the appeal of tower defense games, but the more I play, the more I like them. Is this a sign of me getting old? 100% yes. The catch here is that the main character in Sunstore War can carry elements of tower defense across the map: you can move towers, toss enemies, and carry obstacles.

Low-poly horror has become a staple in my life. After playing Mouthwashing (check out my review!) and trying the demo for 10 Dead Doves, I’m all in for this genre. Threshold captures it perfectly with a first-person horror experience set on a lonely mountain top, where you must uncover mysteries.

I’m not even sure how to explain this one: gods are squabbling at the end of the world, and you solve puzzles by absorbing dialogue and launching it out—with puppets. Just watch the trailer; Great God Grove looks amazing.

This pixel-styled platformer is every bit as gorgeous and colorful as its soundtrack is fun and exciting. Honestly, the trailer music rips! No release date for Renaine yet, but I had to share it once I saw it.

Death Stranding finally on XBOX Series X|S
When I started Good Game Lobby, the focus was strictly on indie games and not much else. I would only comment on AAA titles if they related to something involving indie gaming (the next section about the Dead Space book speaks to this). Although I know Death Stranding was made by Hideo Kojima and financed with Sony's help, I still consider it an indie game studio project.
When I played the game for the first time, it was through GeForce Now. I didn’t have a PlayStation or a proper PC, but I put over 60 hours into it. I was blown away by the visuals, gameplay style, unique storytelling, connections to other games, and the brilliant acting by the main characters. It was my first Kojima game since Metal Gear Solid 1.
To this day, Death Stranding is still my favorite game of all time. I’ve also bought the game MANY, MANY times—first on Steam, then on PS4 while visiting a friend, again on PS5 for my nephew, once more for the Director’s Cut on a friend’s PS5, yet again when I got my own PS5, and one last time for the steelbook case on PC. Could Xbox be my final purchase? Who knows, but I’m excited for those on the "green team" to finally experience this brilliant game on its 5th anniversary.

Lost In Cult has been on fire with its releases lately, and I’m slowly becoming their number-one fan. Make Us Whole: The History of Dead Space is an oral history book that covers the entire Dead Space universe.
The book will explore all of the Dead Space series' media—from video games to movies, novels, and comics. Written by Elijah Beahm, with insanely detailed illustrations by Jonathan La Mantia, it’s truly a visual treat. Just look at the illustration below…wow.
Dead Space was a fantastic, fresh take on the horror genre, with its unique mechanics of dismembering aliens and monsters. The suit and weapons played a huge part in its success. The recent remake shows how even a classic game can be revitalized to feel new again. You can pre-order the book now, with delivery expected in 2025.

Need to get back to Death Stranding before 2 comes out....
Oh I live lost in cult stuff too. I am waiting on two things I’ve ordered and hope they come soon. 😅 but it’s too much to be their number one fan so you can have that space and I’ll join the top 5. 😂💚
