Friday Follow-UP #14 2025
Newsletter #14 of 2025 Featuring: Many many indie games are releasing in April 2025 so this week it is a huge list of upcoming games this month! Also, added indie games coming to Switch 2!
Welcome to this week’s Friday Follow-Up, which will focus on games coming in April 2025! Also, I had to add a few indies from Nintendo’s latest Switch 2 Direct (how nuts was that?! Let me know in the comments what you thought about the Direct!).
Wishlist XP | Deltarune, Silksong!, Koira, Elroy and the Aliens, Slimekeep, Promise Mascot Agency, Lushfoil Photography Sim, Warside, Repose, Seafrog Rift Riff, and Bionic Bay.
Toby Fox is hard at work to get all seven—yes, seven—chapters of Deltarune out and even has a newsletter where he shares details about each upcoming chapter. What was a surprise is that Chapters 3 and 4 are not only coming to Switch 2 but releasing on launch day, June 5th!
Dive into the parallel story to UNDERTALE! Fight or spare your way through action-packed battles as you explore a mysterious world alongside an endearing cast of new and familiar characters. Chapters 1-4 will be available on launch, with more planned as free updates!
🎮 Deltarune Chapter 1-4 | Steam
🗓️ Release Date | June 5th, 2025
Five seconds. Silksong is one of the most anticipated indie games of the decade , and we got five seconds of it thrown into a sizzle reel of upcoming Switch 2 releases… five seconds. I’ll take it. People are already speculating that since it wasn’t highlighted and just says 2025, we could easily see it pushed to 2026. It’s been too long, and I think people are going to be overly critical when it releases.
Discover a vast, haunted kingdom in Hollow Knight: Silksong! The sequel to the award winning action-adventure. Explore, fight and survive as you ascend to the peak of a land ruled by silk and song.

🗓️ Release Date | 2025 I guess? Who really knows?!
I haven’t played a demo of Koira or seen much beyond the trailer above, but something tells me I’m going to cry playing this game—which is why it will be great. One of those, “I’m not crying, you’re crying” moments.
Save a puppy and embark on a heartwarming, hand-drawn adventure together. Journey to the heart of an enchanted forest, solving puzzles and avoiding hunters to protect your newfound friend.
🎮 Koira | Steam
🗓️ Release Date | April 1st, 2025
I’m softening up more and more on point-and-clicks, and with this animated style, Elroy and the Aliens looks like an intriguing world to explore.
It's the year 1993. Talking robots, ghosts from the past, and ancient alien technology buried under desert sand. An adventure following Elroy and Peggie in the search of a long-lost father. How far would you go to bring back the ones you love?
🎮 Elroy and the Aliens | Steam
🗓️ Release Date | April 2nd, 2025
Something about the all-green visuals in Slimekeep, a roguelike Survivor-style game designed like a widescreen Game Boy game, just hits the spot. It looks like a lot of fun.
Slimekeep is a fast-paced rogue-like with unique decision making and intriguing player freedoms, where you kill and capture various slimes to stop the corruption that has infected the land. Venture through procedurally generated levels, and stop the slime king before it's too late.

Anything coming out in April I missed? Let me know in the comments!
I am eagerly awaiting my key for Promise Mascot Agency. It’s already getting a ton of buzz with its oddball premise—it reminds me of an indie Like a Dragon-inspired game.
Explore a cursed Japanese town! Recruit mascot friends and come to the rescue when disaster strikes! Solve the mystery of your exile! Help a living finger work through her many anger issues! Turn Promise Mascot Agency into the best agency in Japan in this open-world narrative adventure!

🗓️ Release Date | April 10th, 2025
Warside is a turn-based game that looks like a more detailed version of Advance Wars. I mean, it looks like a clone through and through, but I love this series and style, so if I can play it somewhere other than a 3DS/Switch, I’m all for it.
Welcome to Warside, the fast-paced turn-based tactics game. With a single-player story campaign, multiplayer support, and a built-in map editor, the fight for victory never ends. Choose your Commander, assemble your forces, and battle your way to victory.

🗓️ Release Date | April 14th, 2025
Back in my GIF days with Mr. GIF, one of my close friends was designing a full game with a pixel-art aesthetic—not exactly like this, but actually more detailed. We really saw the potential in the design and style, and Repose feels like that idea come to life. The style is reminiscent of early ’90s PC gaming, and I’m all here for it.
In the facility, each step, each shot, each mistake costs precious energy. Rendered entirely in black and white, find oxygen and sleep. That's the job. And don't ask about Aaron.

🗓️ Release Date | April 14th, 2025
I just got the key for Seafrog, so I’m excited to dive into this world and share it with you. Indie devs are creating their own Mario and Sonic worlds, and I support this with each new entry I see. It’s out in 11 days, so be on the lookout for my review coming soon!

I had a chance to review the demo for Lushfoil Photography Sim, published by Annapurna Interactive. It’s a beautiful world to explore, where you take photographs and learn real-life photography mechanics in a gamified way. Check out my review above!

At first glance, Bionic Bay doesn’t look like much—but every pixel has been painstakingly placed, adding immense detail to each environment. The developer has shared their process over the years, and seeing it all come together in this exciting platforming world with a tech-bending mechanic is exciting, to say the least!
A scientist uses a unique teleportation instrument to escape an ancient biomechanical world filled with imaginative technology, deadly traps, and hidden secrets.

Rift Riff is a tower defense game that is just beautifully designed. I mean, look at that thumbnail and logo—it’s so well-designed and clean! Rift Riff is looking great, and fun to play!

Good Game Lobby Review | Spilled!
This week’s review are for Spilled! My first ever Kickstarter campaign I backed is out now and its great! Don’t just take my word for it. Check out

I am really quite intrigued by Bionic Bay. I can't quite believe Silksong will be a thing. But it looks hopeful. haha
