Friday Follow-UP: Six One Indie Showcase | September 19th, 2024
This Friday Follow-UP is a bit different. I wanted to recap the Six One Indie Showcase. With 45 indie games from indie developers and indie studios. I condense it down to games that stood out to me.
The Six One Indie Showcase is back, featuring over 40 game trailers for titles releasing in 2024 or 2025. I went through the showcase and picked several of my favorites that stood out. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
Joe is a real one. I met him when I backed the Kickstarter for The Edge of Allegoria. It was around the time I had just started GGL. It was a lot of fun to spread the word about the game and watch it get funded right at the deadline. Since then, he’s been touring the world, showcasing the game, securing a publisher, and updating the demo with more gameplay in anticipation of its release later this year.
The game is a turn-based RPG with a look that’s reminiscent of creature-collecting games from the peak Game Boy era. Want my personal description of the game? This game fucks.

Pirofauna’s environment is entirely designed in the real world using paper to create the world. It is then photographed and added to the game engine. It’s a wonderful style for a cute and cozy game, though you play as a flame that burns the forest.
